Welcome to your personalized Parish Counseling Page!

Rejoice Counseling Apostolate is excited to begin providing Parish Counseling Services to the parishioners of St. Ignatius of Loyola and other nearby parishes in The Woodlands and Spring. Journeying with individuals, couples, parents, and families in counseling gives us great joy, and we hope we can share in this joyful journey with you! As Catholic counselors, we bring the gift of faith into every counseling session while also drawing upon our education, training, and experience in professional counseling.

Read below to learn about the Catholic counseling services that are available for parishioners and their families, and then contact us for scheduling. We look forward to hearing from you!

– Dr. Chris Stravitsch, President

“As a certified spiritual director, I am often confused with a pastoral counselor. Oftentimes when someone has a deep-seated issue in life, healing the psyche is an important step toward growing in a closer relationship with the Lord Jesus. The author J.T. Byrne distinguishes spiritual direction and counseling in this way: spiritual direction treats spiritual problems and aims at supernatural integration while counseling treats emotional problems and aims at natural integration. At St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish we are concerned with the wholeness of the person: body, mind and soul. By offering counseling services that are in accord with the teachings of the Church, Rejoice Counseling Apostolate helps people remove the barriers that stifle human relationships. Thus, I am excited to have this partnership with Rejoice so that our parishioners may afford themselves to become both whole and holy.”

– Fr. Norbert Maduzia, Jr., E.V., D.Min., Pastor

Special Opportunity: Come find healing at the Grieving with Great Hope 5-Week Support Group – Just in time for the holidays

Grieving with Great HOPE is a five-week grief support workshop in a DVD and small group discussion format that will be led by Rejoice Counseling Apostolate. It offers a prayerful, practical and personal approach for adults who have experienced the death of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, grandchild, friend or other loved one. There are no stages to grief. We all experience loss in our unique way. It is through prayerful reflection, practical learning and personal fellowship that we mourn. In mourning, we begin to build our bridge to a new and different life.

It will be held at the St. James the Apostle Catholic Church at 22800 Aldine Westfield, Spring, Texas. The sessions will be held on Thursdays from 1:00 – 3:00pm on November 2, 9, 16, 30, and December 7. The fee is only $20 to cover the materials. To register or for more information, please contact Diane Nuar, MA, LPC at [email protected]
