Meet Allison…

Allison Woolford, LCDC Intern, Parish Counselor Student Intern

Supervised by Dr. Chris Stravitsch, DMin, LPC-S, LMFT-S

Allison Woolford graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and is a counseling student working toward completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through the University of West Alabama. She is acquiring professional counseling experience with individuals, couples, and families in our Practicum & Internship Student Program, which aims to form the next generation of Catholic counselors. She is currently a registered Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern (CI) in Texas.

Allison was raised Methodist but converted to Catholicism in high school. Many things led her to finding the Catholic Church but the beauty of the Eucharist was what captivated her the most. While in college, she served as a Eucharistic Minister, RCIA leader and sponsor, as well as working for a Catholic radio station. Currently, she is involved at her home parish, St. John the Evangelist, where she has helped with CCE and retreats.

Allison has previously worked as an intern with children in the foster care system. She worked one on one with children to provide them with appropriate skills to help them cope and become their best self. Some of her interests in counseling include substance abuse and addictions, autism, youth issues, self-harm, and addressing human sexuality from a Catholic perspective.
