Meet Eileen…

Eileen Borski, Parish Counselor Student Intern

Supervised by Dr. Chris Stravitsch, DMin, LPC-S, LMFT-S

Eileen Borski is a graduate intern working towards a Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. She is currently acquiring professional counseling experience in our Practicum & Internship Student Program, with the goal of becoming an effective Catholic counselor. She receives counseling supervision from various counseling educators at Lamar University and Dr. Chris Stravitsch, DMin, LPC-S, LMFT-S. Eileen comes to counseling with an extensive educational, pastoral and professional background centered in Catholicism. Eileen is a lifelong learner of the Catholic faith. She carried her love of the Catholic faith into her adult life earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas and a Certificate in Pastoral Studies from St. Mary’s Seminary.

In counseling, Eileen can address career concerns and transitions, professional and personal communication skill improvements, grief, parenting, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, addictions, emotional abuse, relationships, marriage and family life, cultural concerns, marital sexual concerns and more. In addition, she is a seasoned presenter on topics including intentional discipleship, end of life concerns, vocations and the joy of marriage. 

Eileen’s theoretical approach to counseling stems from a narrative and Gestalt approach while also integrating numerous other techniques and interventions integrating her Catholic and pastoral education and experience. Furthermore, Eileen’s approach to counseling focuses on effectively listening, walking alongside people in need, offering support, and sharing skills to uncover the desired outcome and guide clients towards their personal development of a more content life experience centered in joy and peace.

Eileen has more than 30 years of senior and executive level leadership experience in a corporate and parish setting. In addition to her pastoral and professional education at Catholic institutions, she earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Sam Houston State University, and completed numerous executive education programs at Rice University and General Electric. During that time, Eileen became more aware of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in her life and in the life of others. In particular, a keen awareness of the gift of counsel emerged in Eileen’s life. Her passion for listening, helping and more actively recognizing the abundance of God’s hand in healing from life’s hurts became the center of her life’s work pulling her towards a career as a licensed professional counselor. 

Eileen is an advocate, artist, writer, mother and wife. She and her husband, Deacon Jeff Borski, are active at Sacred Heart Church in Conroe, Texas.
