Meet Norma…

Norma Gonzalez, Practicum Student

Supervised by Larry Freeney, PhD(cand.), LPC

Norma is currently a graduate student intern, studying counseling mental health with Prairie View University. She has an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Houston, Downtown. In the past she has worked with children with disabilities as an assistant teacher and hopes to become a licensed practicing counselor. Presently, she is receiving trauma training as well.

She believes an environment of compassion, empathy, and trust builds a solid foundation for the counseling relationship. Her goal is to help clients achieve mental health wellness while also growing in their faith.

On her off time, she enjoys spending time with her family, dog, and going for walks outdoors. She is a parishioner at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church.
